Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled, collaborative Speech Pathologist to join our team to provide quality care for our patients. Keys To Communication has part-time positions available for the afternoons only.
The Speech Pathologist will perform screenings, assessments, and design therapy and treatment plans to help the patient develop necessary speech skills. You will be working closely with the patient’s families to educate parents and support their child’s skills outside of the clinic. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be knowledgeable about speech-related conditions and therapies.
To succeed as a Speech Pathologist, you should be willing to alter treatment plans to better suit the individual needs of a diverse patient population. You should be caring, flexible, analytical, and resourceful.
Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities:
Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech and language disorders.
Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs for each individual patient.
Performing screenings and assessments to detect voice and fluency disorders.
Educating patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
Speech Pathologist Requirements:
Master’s degree in Speech-language Pathology or Communicative Disorders and Sciences
Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license
Certificate of Clinical Competence
Must have at least 1 years of experience with the pediatric population
A strong CF with early intervention experience may be considered
Must have experience working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, cognitive delays, learning disabilities, Down Syndrome, ADHD and etc.
Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments
Excellent coaching, verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases
